A Gasserian Ganglion Block
is a pain management treatment elected by patients who are
experiencing pain at the Atlas Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine, located on Park
Avenue South @31st Street in Manhattan, New York. A stellate
ganglion block (sympathetic block) is an injection of local
anesthetic administered by a pain management doctor into the
front of the neck for pain treatment located in the head, neck,
chest or arm caused by sympathetically maintained pain (reflex
sympathetic dystrophy), causalgia (nerve injury), herpes zoster
(shingles), or intractable angina. Stellate ganglion blocks are also
used to see if blood flow can be improved in circulation problems.
With a Gasserian Ganglion
Block pain relief is instantaneous, if the pain that you are
experiencing is related only to the nerves which go to the gasserian
ganglion. Total duration of pain relief will be six to 12 hours. If
a nerve killing medication is used, maximum relief starts in one to
two days, and may last up to three to six months.
If you are interested in a Gasserian Ganglion Block to manage your
pain or treat your pain the doctors of the Atlas Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine of Manhattan, New York and Millburn, New Jersey would be happy to see you for a
