Atlas Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine,
located on Park Avenue South at 31st Street in Manhattan, New York
offers Lumbar Sympathetic Block pain management and pain treatment.
A Lumbar Sympathetic Block is an injection of local anesthetic in
the "sympathetic nerve tissue" – the nerves which are a part of
Sympathetic Nervous System. The nerves are located on the either
side of spine, in the back and the treatment is administered to
relieve pain.
A lumbar sumpathetic blcok
may be performed if you have
reflex sympathetic dystrophy, (RSD), a disease involving a
disturbance of circulation to the skin or neuropathic pain or any
other disorder of the nervous system.
Because of the possibility
of controlling otherwise intractable pain by the relatively brief
application of a local anesthetic or neurolytic agent makes neural
blockade (the lumbar sympathetic block) an attractive approach in
selected patients in pain.
If you are interested in Lumbar Sympathetic Block pain management
information or other types of pain management treatments the spine
surgeons of the Atlas Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine of Manhattan, New York and Millburn, New Jersey would be
